Snowcone || 2015-02-22 20:29:29
A shot of Snowcone from last Monday at the Beaches where it was anything but warm. This amazing project was conceived and built by Diana Koncan and Lily Jeon – two classmates of mine from Ryerson’s Department of Architectural Science. With the help of several other students and friends – over several freezing hours – the installation came to life. Snowcone is a winter station that “transforms in response to the unpredictable Toronto winter weather from a technicolor-stained-glass-greenhouse […] in sunny weather... to a snow-insulated igloo in stormy weather.” It is one of 5 winter stations located along the beach. Be sure to check them out and don’t forget to step inside for a great view from atop the lifeguard station enclosed.
